Port Wine Extravaganza

September 29, 2017

Our next wine tasting focuses on Port wines from the Douro region of Portugal. The Douro river valley is a stunningly beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site. But it also houses the world's oldest demarcated wine region, dating from the 1750s, 100 years older than the Bordeaux 1855 classification.

We present a selection of Ports in different styles going back up to 40 years of age. In addition you can taste a selection of Douro still wines that are gaining a global reputation. Ideal for the upcoming holiday season. A rare opportunity to taste many styles of high quality Ports and learn about this magical region!

Note about the Port producer: Quevedo is part of a new generation of family wineries based in the Douro. A small but very well respected producer, Quevedo suddenly got a great deal of visibility when its 2011 Vintage Port received a 96 point rating from the Wine Spectator. The wines are made in a racy, modern style for younger palates, enjoyable young and old - we love them!
